Our osteopaths and acupuncturists at Health Balance are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) – just as your doctor or dentist should be.
Osteopathy and acupuncture is covered by most private health funds and the Medicare Enhanced Primary Care scheme.
You do not require a referral to visit an osteopath, acupuncturist or pilates instructor. You can just call us on 03 5221 5751 to make an appointment.
Most private health insurers will cover osteopathy and acupuncture. You can submit your claim on the spot with our HICAPS facility and you will only pay the gap fee. Just remember to check with your health provider on the rebate you are entitled to and bring along your health fund card to your appointment.
There will be a small gap when visiting any practitioner under an Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) referral. There may also be a gap with your private health insurer so it is best to check with them on the rebate you are entitled to.

Our team of practitioners each have a unique skill set. Quite often, these skills sets can complement each other and you may see more than one of us at Health Balance. In the first instance we recommend that you call us to discuss your health concerns and we will direct you to the most appropriate member of our team.
Your first appointment will be your most comprehensive. This will enable us to gather accurate history and detailed information on your problem to allow us to perform a proper analysis.
You will be asked to firstly complete a questionnaire detailing your current concerns, past history and any other relevant medical information.
From there, a physical examination will assess your range of movement in the case of injury.
If you are visiting an acupuncturist, you can expect to answer questions on your diet, lifestyle and other health related questions.
All of our treatments at Health Balance are held within private treatment rooms. Patients may be asked to disrobe and towels will be provided to maintain privacy.
